Riot units deployed in response to growing unrest on Imperial planets are soldiers trained to quell riots and contain mobs of aggressive civilians. They are equipped with heavy shields and stun batons, and are often supported by specialized soldiers such as sharpshooters or the intimidating KX security droids. They employ brutal, direct tactics that often lead to violent physical confrontations between the officers and the citizens they are meant to contain.
