Araknae platforms are manned turrets, dropped into position by transport aircraft. Usually armed with potent quad accelerator cannons to engage a variety of targets, including light armour units, the Araknae can also be armed with a variety of anti-infantry weaponry, including Orias heavy frag missiles and a devastating twin punisher cannon.

This multipart plastic kit builds eight Araknae Weapons Platform Batteries for your Legiones Astartes armies in games of Legions Imperialis. These defensive arrays are ideal for denying swathes of the battlefield to your enemy. Up to four can be armed with flexible quad accelerator autocannons, up to two can be equipped with Orias heavy frag missiles for taking out hordes of light infantry, and up to four can take twin punisher cannons for engaging light armour, flyers, and heavy infantry.

This kit is supplied with 1x Legion Vehicle Transfer Sheet, containing 1,130 high-quality waterslide transfers to decorate your miniatures. There are icons for each of the 18 Legions in the Horus Heresy, along with numerals and honour markings.

This kit comprises 116 plastic components. These miniatures require assembly and are supplied unpainted – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel Colour paints.

Rules for using these miniatures in your games of Legions Imperialis can be found in Journal Strategia – The Ruin of the Salamanders, which is available separately.Spedizione dal 20/12

On Isstvan V, the Salamanders had been broken. Their warriors had been slaughtered, their Primarch lost and presumed dead. Their wargear, abandoned during the battle, had been claimed as spoils of war by the Traitors and turned against the Loyalist cause. It was a defeat so utterly complete that most forces would never have recovered, becoming just one more laurel for Horus to fix upon his standard as he marched upon Terra. Yet, the sons of Vulkan did not succumb to such a fate.

This narrative gaming supplement for Legions Imperialis takes you to the black sands of Isstvan V, where you can play out your own version of the Dropsite Massacre. Can you lead the Salamanders to a breakout, or will you crush them with the Iron Warriors in a historical mission? There are also fresh ways to play the Legiones Astartes with additional Detachments and Formations, as well as Iconic Formations.

Inside this 48-page softcover book, you will find:
– Death on the Black Sands: A detailed account of the annihilation of the Salamanders Legion during the Dropsite Massacre on Isstvan V.
– Historical Mission: Refight the catastrophic slaughter at the Crucible, where the retreating Salamanders attempt to break out of a trap laid by the Iron Warriors.
– Additional Formations: Discover extra ways to field the Legiones Astartes, along with Iconic Formations for the Legiones Astartes, Iron Warriors, and Loyalist Solar Auxilia.
– Extra Detachments: Unleash Legion tanks, super-heavy tanks, Saturnine Terminators, Saturnine Dreadnoughts, Saturnine Commanders, and Araknae weapons platforms.

To use the contents of this book, you'll need a copy of the Warhammer: The Horus Heresy – Legions Imperialis Rulebook and the Liber Strategia supplement, both available separately.
